5G is coming soon in India, let's know how ready Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea are
5G network is going to take entry in India soon, in fact, let us tell you that DoT has approved 5G testing. Today we are going to tell you how ready Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea are for 5G. The name of MTNL has come in the list, will BSNL also get a chance for 5G network?

Telecom companies in India have been approved by DoT for 5G trials. This approval has been given for 6 months i.e. 2 months have been given for the purchase and setting of equipment and 4 months for testing.

Here, let us also tell you that this 5G trial is going to be tested as a 5Gi technology rather than the same name. Apart from this, the International Telecommunication Union of ITU has also recognized 5Gi technology. It has come exclusively to India, because the reach of 5G towers and radio networks in India is very large. Let me tell you that 5Gi technology has been created by IIT Madras, Center of Excellence in Wireless Technology CEWiT and IIT Hyderabad.

The statement of the Ministry of Tele Communications stated that the objectives of conducting 5G tests include testing 5G spectrum propagation characteristics, especially in the Indian context, model tuning and evaluation of equipment and vendors chosen here, testing indigenous technology, Applications include testing and testing 5G phones and devices, etc.

If we talk about data rates, 5G technology is expected to increase 10 times more than its 4G. Apart from this, it also enables 3 times spectrum efficiency and ultra-low latency. Applications range across a wide range of fields such as agriculture, education, health, transportation, traffic management, smart cities, smart homes, and many applications of IoT (Internet of Things). The DoT has specified that the test is to be isolated and will not be integrated with the existing network of TSPs. The tests will be on non-commercial basis and the data generated during the test will be stored in India.

Now let us know which smartphones you should buy at a very low price at this time! To get the fastest connectivity till now, Indian users are eagerly waiting for the fifth generation 5G network. Jio, Airtel, and Vi are working on creating a network that can connect virtually everyone to each other, including machines, objects, and such devices. In some features of 5G network, high multi-GBPS speed, low latency and is more reliable than previous generation networks.

When will 5G launch in India?

This question cannot be answered clearly yet. While Jio is preparing for a 5G launch at the end of this year, Airtel believes that the domestic telecom market will take 2 to 3 years to be ready for 5G services. Apart from this, the government has not even started the sale of 5G spectrum in India yet.

5G frequency band in India

The 5G frequency band is currently unavailable in India. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is operating from 700 MHz to 2,500 MHz in March 2021 but according to Indian telecom operators, it will be inadequate and adversely affect the 5G rollout in the country. Telecom recommends spectrum sales of 3,300–3,600 MHz, which is envisaged for the 5G network.

What are the 5G plans of Reliance Jio?

Jio may launch 5G in India in the second half of 2021. Jio will lead the 5G network revolution in India. The company's chairman Mukesh Ambani has announced that it will take an edge on the network in the country by launching 5G in the second half of 2021. Jio claims that it will easily upgrade the 4G to 5G network due to the changed network of Telco. Jio's 5G will be powered by indigenously developed network, hardware and technology components. It is believed that Telco could buy 700MHz in the upcoming auction to fulfill its 5G ambitions, until the government announced an auction of 3300-3600MHz, which is currently globally popular for 5G deployments.

How ready is Airtel for 5G?

Airtel is yet to disclose its plans to launch 5G in the country. The company believes that more time is needed to bring the next generation of mobile technology across the country. According to Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal, the 5G ecosystem is underdeveloped in the country and the spectrum is expensive. "The fundamental issue with 5G is spectrum cost, which is on top," he said. He said, Telco is 5G-ready. Airtel announced in 2017 the deployment of India's first state-of-the-art Massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology, a key enabler for 5G networks. The company has already deployed the technology in Bangalore, Kolkata. And many other areas in the country are also involved in this.

What is VI's 5G plan?

Vi aka Vodafone Idea is ready to export 5G to India, as spectrum is made available through auction. The company has upgraded its 4G network with 5G architecture and other technologies such as Dynamic Spectrum Reforming (DSR) and MIMO. Ravinder, MD and CEO of Vodafone Idea, said during the AGM meeting last year, “Our network is very much 5G-ready. When 5G is auctioned, we will be able to launch 5G. However, there is a need to develop 5G use cases in India. India is unique and some global use cases may not be relevant. ” Telco has also proposed 5G tests with several vendors, including Huawei and Ericsson.

BSNL's 5G plan?

State-owned Telco BSNL's 5G plan remains a mystery at the moment. The company announced back in 2019 that it would come with a 5G corridor in Delhi, but since then there has been no update on the matter. The corridor will demonstrate the potential use of the new technology with optimal data speeds at 5G levels, BSNL Chairman Anupama Srivastava told ETT, adding that Telco is also bringing an in-house test center.
