Where to get fastag

The driver has to visit the authorized point of sale location for free fastag along with the registration certificate of his vehicle. NHAI Fastag can be availed from all National Highway Free Plaza, Regional Transport Office, Common Service Center, Transport Hub and Petrol Pump. The government has implemented the Fastag based toll collection system on 527 National Highways across the country. For the nearest NHAI Fastag point of sale location, one has to download the MyFASTag app or visit www.ihmcl.com. Apart from this, one has to call the 1033 NH helpline number.

Daily collection of toll can be 100 crore rupees

However, there has been no change in the security deposit and minimum balance amount from the government. NHAI announced the free fastag from November 22 to December 15 last year. Last month, Road Transport and Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the revenue of the project has gone up from Rs 68 crore to Rs 87 crore due to electronic toll collection. Once the system is fully implemented, NHAI expects its daily toll collection to be Rs 100 crore.
