The UIDAI has written on the official Twitter handle that BaalAadhaar is necessary for children 5 years of age or younger and it will remain valid for 5 years. Children under 5 years of age biometric information is not obtained. But, when his age is more than 5 years, the biometric record has to be updated.

How different is the Bal Aadhar from the common Aadhar?
Let us tell you that biometric identification such as iris scan or fingerprint scan will not be required in the Bal Aadhar. Apart from this, if any identification is required, then the Aadhaar of parents will be checked, but as soon as the child is over the age of five, he will be issued a normal Aadhaar card and the child's biometric details will also be updated.
How to make Bal Aadhar for your child?
- To get a Bal Aadhar, you have to go to the Aadhaar center with the child.
- Here you have to fill the registration form.
- Here you also have to take the child's birth certificate.
- With this, the mother and father also have to take their Aadhar card along.
- Photographs of children will be taken at the Aadhar center, which will be shown on the Aadhar.
- The Bal Aadhar will be linked to one of the parents.
- With this, a confirmation message will be sent to the registered mobile number of the parents.
- Bal Aadhar will be sent to your registered address within 60 days of receiving the confirmation message.
- Card will be blue
UIDAI will release Aadhaar for children in blue color. The child's biometric details will have to be updated after the age of 5 years. This work can be done for free at any nearest Aadhaar center. If you do not update your child's biometric details for 7 years, the card will be suspended.
