MG Hector Plus can be booked online for fifty thousand rupees, will get three trim levels- Super (Only Diesel), Smart and Sharp

MG Motor India has started taking bookings for the Hector Plus SUV. It will be launched later this month. Desire customers can book SUVs through MG's official website for Rs 50,000. The company was first introduced at the Delhi Auto Expo, which is actually Hector, with three-row seating and some new exterior design updates.


Will get three engine options


  • The Hector Plus SUV will come with the engine and gearbox option found in the 5-seater Hector already present in the market. Although initially there will be no non-hybrid petrol-manual version with Hector Plus.
  • 170hp / 350Nm power generating 2.0-liter diesel engine equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission.
  • A 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine generating 143hp / 250Nm power with 6-speed dual-clutch auto
  • 1.5-liter petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid coupling system equipped with 6-speed manual transmission



Get three variants


  • The Hector Plus will be offered with a six-seat (2 + 2 + 2) configuration and will be available in three trim levels - Super, Smart and Sharp.
  • The super trim base will only be offered with a diesel engine, while the mid-spec Smart trim will be offered with either diesel or petrol-auto.
  • The top-spec sharp trim, meanwhile, will be available with all three powertrain options. If seen, there will be a total of 6 versions, which includes 3 diesel, 2 petrol-autos and 1 petrol-hybrid.
  • At the time of launch, Hector Plus will be offered with only 6 seats, with individual captain seats in Middle-Row. MG will also offer a 7-seat version with a middle-row bench.

What features will be found in Hector Plus?


  • In terms of features, the Hector Plus's Sharp variant includes LED headlamps with LED DRLs, LED taillamps, LED front and rear LED foglamps, 16-inch dual tone alloy, leather upholstery, 6-way power driver seat, 8-color ambient lighting, 7-inch MID, powered boot opening, heated ORVMs, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible 10.4-inch touchscreen, Infinity audio system and a panoramic sunroof. Hector Plus also comes with MG's i-Smart Connected Car technology, which includes over 55 features such as geofencing, find my car, remote vehicle control, and voice assistant.
  • In terms of safety, the top-spec sharp variant comes with six airbags, EBD and brake assist, ESC, traction control, tire pressure monitoring system, hill-hold assist, 360-degree parking camera and front and rear parking sensors.
  • MG Hector Plus will come with a new smoked sepia brown leather upholstery, which is different from the regular Hector's all-black scheme. Hector Plus will be offered in six color options - Starry Sky Blue, Glaze Red, Burgundy Red, Starry Black, Candy White and Aurora Silver.



Who will Hector Plus compete with?

MG Hector Plus will compete with the Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming Tata Gravitas in the market. Apart from this, MG will compete with Toyota Innova Crysta with lower starting price and longer standard warranty. Three-Row Hector will face competition from the upmarket 7-seater Hyundai Creta, which Hyundai is set to hit the market in the second half of 2021.
